HamWiki:General disclaimer
HamWiki is written carefully and checked against reliable sources, but it is a general reference, not an official one. Please keep these points in mind.
Rules and licensing
Summaries of FCC rules, band privileges, power limits and licensing steps are there to help you understand them. They are not legal advice. The official rules are in Part 97 of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, published by the Federal Communications Commission. Check the current official text, and the current band plan, before you rely on a figure. Outside the United States, your own country's rules apply.
Safety
Some articles describe work that can be dangerous: putting up antennas and towers, working near power lines, high voltage inside equipment and power supplies, batteries, lightning, and radio-frequency exposure. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, local codes and the FCC's RF exposure rules, and get help from an experienced person when in doubt. Never put up an antenna where it could fall onto or touch a power line.
Products, companies and prices
Companies, products, programs and websites are described for information only. HamWiki does not sell anything and is not endorsed by the companies it describes. Products change and businesses close or change hands; check with the company before you buy.
