GigaParts (GigaParts, Inc.) is an American retailer of amateur radio and computer equipment based in Huntsville, Alabama. Founded in 1998, it sells online and from a large store in Huntsville that combines ham radio with personal computer hardware, 3D printing, photography, astronomy and other hobby electronics. Among hams it is known as a dealer for transceivers, amplifiers, antennas and accessories, and as a distributor for some product lines, including FlexRadio's Genius series of amplifiers and tuners in North America. The company also offers information technology services and sells technical products to businesses and government agencies.
History
GigaParts was founded in Huntsville in 1998. In 2016 Amateur Electronic Supply (AES), a long-established chain of ham radio stores, went out of business. GigaParts hired staff from the AES store in Las Vegas, Nevada, and in January 2017 opened a distribution center in Las Vegas to handle shipments to the western half of the country, with a retail showroom planned there. Its call center remained in Huntsville.
In February 2023 FlexRadio appointed GigaParts as a North American distributor of its Genius line, covering the Power Genius XL amplifier, the Tuner Genius XL antenna tuner and their accessories. The products went on sale through GigaParts at HamCation in Orlando, Florida, that month.
In October 2023 GigaParts announced plans for a larger Huntsville store of about 55,000 square feet and said it would add photography, astronomy, general aviation and maker products to its range. Its store on University Drive is described as having more than 50,000 square feet of retail space, along with a 3,000-square-foot classroom. In 2026 the company's website listed the Huntsville superstore as its retail location and invited customers to suggest where it should open another.
